Growing awareness of the finite nature of our raw materials and energy resources is steering consumers towards companies with eco-friendly work practices.
Our goal, first and foremost, is to minimise the environmental impact of all Fuji Xerox activities. An efficient instrument for the attainment of this goal is the environmental management system ISO14001.
In line with our global strategy to promote sustainable manufacturing, Fuji Xerox has been investing in New Zealand forestry since 1992. We are now joint-owner of 10,000 hectares of eucalyptus forest near Invercargill.
 Our environmental responsibility extends to paper and supplies. The Office Supplies Division of Fuji Xerox New Zealand Limited is fully aligned with Fuji Xerox’s corporate environmental strategies. We’re helping Fuji Xerox to achieve these important goals:
- To transform Fuji Xerox and its affiliates into recycling-oriented companies.
- To reduce environmental impact throughout product lifecycle stage.
- To offer outstanding environmentally-conscious products and eco-solutions to our customers.
- To establish a system for managing a performance index that relates to environmental impact.
Zero waste is becoming a reality
We are close to achieving our goal of zero waste. We have significantly reduced the waste we send to landfills and have systems in place to re-use or recycle most customer replaceable units.As an active member of the Green Purchasing Network, Fuji Xerox fully complies with guidelines for printing and copying paper procurement. Our paper products are sourced from suppliers with proven and internationally recognised environmental certifications.
Our paper suppliers are committed to the sustainable sourcing of their raw materials. From September 2006, almost 80% of the paper products sold by Fuji Xerox New Zealand are obtained from mills that are FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified. In cooperation with its partners, the Office Supplies Division of Fuji Xerox New Zealand sets the industry benchmark for operational excellence, supply chain management, innovation and environmental protection. We are proud to say that environmental concerns take precedence over economic considerations for us. After all, what’s good for the environment ultimately has to be good for business. |
