OVERVIEW
Fuji Xerox's commitment to environmental objectives has received worldwide recognition. The company is proud to say its environmental concerns are as important as economic considerations and believe what is good for the environment is good for business.
Fuji Xerox strives to ensure that its business activities progressively reduce negative environmental impact. This policy applies to the entire operations of the Fuji Xerox Group, and includes:
- Complying with legislative and self-regulatory standards
- Saving energy and resources
- Continually improving management and supervisory systems
- Creating a more harmonious relationship with society
- Adopting an environmental marketing approach
- Enforcing information disclosure
- Raising awareness through education
- Co-operating with business partners to expand environmental awareness
- Maximise recycling waste materials
- Minimise waste to landfill
Fuji Xerox has implemented this strategy at a local level in New Zealand and developed an Environmental and Safety Policy, which focuses on issues relating to local environment. The company is striving towards a goal of "Zero Landfill by 2010" which aims to significantly reduce the amount of waste going to landfill and have developed a very successful Customer Replaceable Unit (CRU) recycling program. On average the Fuji Xerox Group is recycling around 25,000 cartridges per annum. In waste terms this equates to approximately 520 cubic metre reduction in landfill.

- Using recycled products
- Having a collections unit available for used cartridges
- 100% take back policy for used equipment
- Supporting environmental programmes
We have a target of zero landfill by 2010 - efforts to deploy Waste-Free goals have produced dramatic improvements in the environmental performance of Fuji Xerox products, consumables and facilities. This is being achieved by:
- Recycling its products
- Recycling storage materials, such as polystyrene and cardboard
Technology innovations drive environmental sustainability and we are at the forefront of innovation through:
- Energy efficient products
- Using recyclable materials
We are proud partners of the Sir Peter Blake Trust and have invested resource in the associated environmental projects, which are making a positive difference to the New Zealand environment.
